none of us is exempt.

there is an appointed time for everything.

and there is a time for every event under heaven.

a time to give birth, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to uproot what is planted.
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to tear down, and a time to build up.
a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance.
a time to throw stones, and a time to gather stones;
a time to embrace, and a time to shun embracing.
a time to search, and a time to give up as lost;
a time to keep, and a time to throw away.
a time to tear apart, and a time to sew together;
a time to be silent, and a time to speak.
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.

it's right there in ecclesiastes. as true today as it was when it was written. it's what human life on earth is all about- and who are we to think it doesn't apply to us? and that when the bad things happen, that it must be a terrible mistake? and that someone has to pay?

woo hoo!

big news for today is that the Potential Trip has evolved into a Confirmed Trip, and i am so excited! as you might imagine i am feeling ready for a little escape, and this will be just the ticket. my favorite city, a couple of my favorite people, long walks, museums, tulips... good times.

so.

in other news, i am traveling between homes for the next few days as both suomies and m&d are out of town. so i'm on double pet-and-mail duty. but i'm ok with that- i am actually looking forward to a little personal space.

other updates... i have been meeting with Various Professionals and things are progressing in an ok fashion with the ugly parts of my life. not as easy as one might have hoped- but these sorts of things never are, i suppose.

also it seems i am going to receive a New Pet, whose photo i shall hereby display:

pretty cute, huh? it currently lives in wyoming but soon will live with me.

and i think that's about all i have to report.

cheers!

miss me?

hi kiddos

crazy days here, and i haven't posted in a long time... but i wanted to let you all know that i am doing ok. one day at a time.

one thing i am learning, is that having a couple of truly good friends makes all the difference in the world. thank you for emailing me, and calling me, and checking in on me. i need you. i love you.

i have a Potential Trip on the horizon, which feels like a big sunny light at the end (or at least in the middle) of the current tunnel.

anyway, not much to say. but i'm here, and i'm ok, and i'm thankful for you.
